Since 1953 high-fidelity headphones and phonograph cartridges have been hand-made by the Grado family of Brooklyn, New York. Pictured here is Joseph Grado, the founder of the company and the inventor of the moving coil cartridge.

The Headphones
The ‘e’ series is the third generation of Grado headphones.

The RS1e 899
As Stereophile said, “The RS1’s are the only product ever nominated by Stereophile for their “Product of the Year” distinction, two years in a row!”. So what does the i stand for? Improved. Hard to believe but true. Grado uses new upgraded dynamic transducers and their new 8 conductor cable design, all in an open air configuration, gorgeously contained in a new species of handcrafted Mahogany earpieces. Frequency response is from 12 to 30 kHZ and the drivers are matched to within 0.05db. Of all the rave reviews this one from What Hi-Fi? is both humorous and telling. “We’ve always had a bit of a headphone fetish at What Hi-Fi? We’re often talking about how they can create your own private universe, plug directly into your favourite piece of music. Now we’ve heard the Grado RS1’s, and our fetish has become an epic, full blown, love affair. Ooooh…”. Seriously, they said ‘Ooooh’.

The RS2e 659
Meet the little brother of the RS1i. Once again the i stands for improved - upgraded driver and the new 8 conductor cable. The difference? A smaller wooden air chamber. Although smaller the RS2i maintains an overall sound that is pure Grado, warm harmonic colour, full bodied vocals, excellent dynamics and an ultra smooth top end - an audiophile’s dream.

iGrado Headphones 79
Love your portable music player? So does Grado. The iGrado is a street style headphone designed specifically for the portable electronics market. It easily outperforms anything currently available in the low-end portable market.

SR60e Headphones 119
A legend in audio, SR60 headphones have probably won more accolades and awards than any other headphone in history. These lightweight open air headphones use high quality dynamic transducers.

SR80e Headphones 159
Built using many of the same features as the SR60, the SR80 utilizes a 4 conductor connecting cable and larger ear cushions, which gives a more open stage and adds comfort. The SR80 also improves bass resonance to enhance the overall detail of music.

SR125e Headphones 219
Based on the same design as the SR80, the SR125 features an improved diaphragm and voice coil design and UHPLC (Ultra-high purity, long crystal) copper voice coil wire to enhance inner detail. An improved headband spring provides even greater comfort allowing the listener to relax and enjoy the fine tonal spread and balance.

SR325e Headphones 399
The new SR325i has an upgraded driver design and improved mass distribution in the metal housing. With the SR325i you will notice improved control of the upper and lower frequency ranges so they better support Grado’s world renowned midrange.

PS500e Headphones 799
The “little brother” to the PS 1000’s benefited by trickle-down technology cutting the price by two thirds but still retaining much of the performance. Light, airy, comfortable, in the category of musical neutrality the PS500’s are unsurpassed at this price point. The large diaphragms contain rare earth metals, including gold wire for maximum definition. The connecting cable is Grado's newest formula, with some fifteen wires enclosed in a proprietary shell. As Grado says, “There is art in the heart and soul of every Grado product. The PS500 truly conveys the heart and soul of every musical performance you will listen to through them. This is the result of the art learned over the course of almost 60 years of designing and manufacturing products that faithfully follows music. A compact monitoring tool that will put a smile on the face of the most demanding music professionals as well of demanding audiophiles.”

PS1000e Headphones 2199
The new flagship of the Grado headphone line is the PS1000. This hybrid design has an inner sleeve of a selected species of hand-crafted mahogany made by using an intricate curing process. Its outer housing of metal machined from a special non-resonant, very hard metal alloy utilizes a special processing and casting method to increase the porosity of the alloy. This combination of wood and metal insures that the earphone chamber has no "ringing" which might obscure detail or add coloration. Add to this new cable, voice coil and diaphragm design results in unsurpassed speed and accuracy.

GS1000e Headphones 1299
Headphone fanatics have a new “Holy Grail” in the GS1000. This new headphone incorporates a redesigned driver, a new and larger wooden housing and much larger foam cushions that are extremely comfortable and create a “room” for the ears to sit. This enlarges the soundstage and provides a much greater spatial experience for the listener.

RA1 Headphone Amp 499 AC 599
The Grado Reference Headphone Amp—the RA1—is designed for state-of-the-art performance and specifically to play Grado headphones. It is machined from a solid block of mahogany and is available in an AC version or can be powered by two 9-Volt batteries that will drive the amp for 40 to 50 hours of listening pleasure.
